At IFA 2022, after a forced break due to Corona, many different technology fireworks will be ignited this year. In addition to impressive technology in the field of consumer electronics such as the flexible OLED TV LG Flex LX3 and smart home gadgets such as the promising Dreame L10s Ultra vacuum robot, PC technology will not be neglected. Asus in particular is firing off one highlight after another this year. The Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip is probably one of the most powerful convertibles of all time.
Technical specifications of the Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip make for big eyes
Just a few years ago, convertibles were considered low-performance wannabe notebooks that could only score points with their core feature as a mix of tablet and notebook. Asus has made it clear that these times are numbered with the presentation of the Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip. A look under the hood of the device that is just 2.72 cm thick and weighs 2.7 kg makes it clear why. Let’s start with the heart. A power CPU in the form of the Intel Core i9-12950HX provides performance. It is supported by up to 128 GB of RAM.
In view of the small space available, it is not surprising that there is no similar high-end technology when it comes to graphics hardware. With the Nvidia RTX A2000, a graphics unit with 8 GB of video RAM is supposed to provide for respectable graphics, but you won’t be able to play modern graphics breakers on maximum graphics settings. In terms of storage space, a maximum of 4 TB is possible, which is made up of two SSDs. The battery with a capacity of 90 Wh is supposed to provide stamina for mobile work.
Convertible in large format
Not only the hardware of the convertible is rather atypical. The display size of an impressive 16 inches is also rather rare in this market segment. The Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip comes in a 16:10 format and naturally also offers touch controls. The manufacturer uses IPS for the panel, which should not only provide stable viewing angles. On top of that, the brightness of the Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip is emphasized. The convertible display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels offers at least 500 nits. Users who like to work outdoors in the sunshine will also have the option of an additional backlight. The mini-LEDs should be able to increase the brightness to 1000 nits.
Of course, a webcam should not be missing. This offers 1,080p and enables fashionable video conferencing, but also security features like Windows login. The fact that the Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip is on the cutting edge of technology is also made clear by the other features. Besides WiFi 6E, there is also Bluetooth 5.2. In terms of connectivity, the convertible scores with HDMI port, two USB-A ports, mini-DisplayPort, 3.5 mm jack, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and more. The water-resistant keyboard also sounds particularly cool.
Price and Availability
You don’t have to wait much longer for the Asus ExpertBook B6 Flip to launch. It should still be ready in the fourth quarter of this year. However, with an MSRP starting at 2,599 Euros, the powerful device is anything but a bargain and is obviously addressed to professional users.
