Conn’s HomePlus, a specialty home goods retailer, will be opening a new Abilene location Friday in the Shops at Abilene, 3725 Catclaw Drive, the company said in a news release.
The Abilene location will be the company’s 159th store, and one of more than 70 in Texas, the release said.
“We are thrilled to expand to the Abilene area offering our products and services to a new Texas community,” Conn’s HomePlus CEO and president Chandra Holt said in the release. “This expansion proves the brand’s continued momentum, which is the direct result of our loyal customers who have supported Conn’s HomePlus for the last 132 years.”
The new location, which is more than 27,000 square feet, will offer products such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, consumer electronics and home office products. For information, go to conns.com.
Graham McAlister Co joins American Angus Association
Graham McAlister Co, of Abilene, recently became a member of the American Angus Association, the association said in a news release.
The American Angus Association is the largest beef breed association in the world, the release said, with more than 25,000 active adult and junior members. The association records ancestral information and keeps production records and genomic data on individual animals to develop selection tools for its members.
Game wardens offering paid internships in Brown County
BROWNWOOD — Brown County is one of several counties in the state where the Texas Game Wardens are currently seeking applications for paid summer internships, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said in a news release, encouraging college students of all backgrounds and fields of study to apply.
“This is a great opportunity for individuals who are curious about conservation law enforcement and interested in a higher level of community engagement,” Texas Game Warden program coordinator Lt. Rachel Kellner said in the release. “We provide college students with a realistic view of a game warden’s day-to-day activities including time spent on patrol.”
