Commissioners Court approved 51 early voting and 259 Election Day sites on Tuesday, September 6, for the November 8 midterm elections after tense discussions between commissioners and the elections administrator and an hour of public comment from Bexar County residents. Still unsatisfied with the number of Election Day sites, commissioners also approved an amendment saying they could bring additional sites next week.
The 51 early voting sites include five locations that were added upon request from Commissioner Tommy Calvert. This includes St. Mary’s University, Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Paul’s, Frank Garrett Multi-Service Center, and Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Commissioner Rebeca Clay-Flores pushed for Texas A&M.
